Directing

Dr. Cohen has directed thirteen Greek plays: eleven for the Mabel K. Whiteside Greek Theatre, one for the theatre at Skironio, and one for Zoom presentation. Her directing philosophy is to be as economical as possible: as few actors, as few props, as little set as the text requires. In collaboration with other artists—designers, musicians, choreographers—she allows the play to speak for itself while using the same performance conventions that the Greeks did.
